Last Weekend I Was

...afternoon tea-ing.

I have always looked longingly at cakes and finger sandwiches piled high on tiered plates and wished I was elegant enough to pop into a 5* hotel for an Afternoon Tea. With champagne, of course.

So, last weekend (as a belated Christmas treat) myself and a friend went to the Courthouse Hotel by Hilton in London for a Champagne Afternoon Tea for Two. We were not disappointed.

Presented with a glass of champagne as we sat in the delicate lounge, we perused the list of teas before realising we could essentially sample as many as we liked. I then finally got to enjoy my finger sandwiches on a tiered plate. Perfection.

Smoked salmon and cream cheese, cucumber and soft cheese and turkey and cranberry to start, followed by a delicious selection of warm scones, pastries and cakes. Some may have been a little creamy for my liking but I didn't care. I felt so special.

A perfect treat for Mother's Day, birthday or just a relaxing Sunday.
